1800whp VQ35DE - 350Z-TECH FORUMS . I remmber back about 7-9 years ago.. it was almost a fact that stock 2jz's couldn't handle over 550whp (lots of people have blew them up at these powerlevels ... mostly due to shitty tuning). This isn't the only VQ car running at these power levels. All this is was done with the old VQ platform, nobody knows yet what the HR's are capable of. If i was going to swap any engine in my car aside from the VQ it would be a LSX series V8 (Which has already been done). DE's with stock bottom ends can't handle much boost, and need to be sleeved beyond a certain point. But they are nowhere near impotent.
Fab work done here was awesome, exhaust looks great, and I'am suprised you guys got all the factory gauges to interact with the 2J ECU, everything (aside from the obvious aftermarket upgrades) looks OEM. Nice work.
the VQ motor will make big power...no doubt...but the extremeracecars setup is one very few people can afford.
the 2jz longblock will make 700-800whp w/ stock bottom end...so its all about the power level and complexity of the build.
for a car like this...a 2jz swap works well...especially for the price.
