The only part of the car that is gutted is the small trunk and he has the trunk filled with 2 subwoofers and a huge subbox. The car out of a factory weighs 2380lbs curbweight. Does everyone think a 2400lb car with 150whp run low 14s? and the gears on the transmission are not crazy long gears but there not that short of a gear ratio.
