I dont buy it and stay with my first take on the situation. Would an off duty life guard let someone drown? Granted it was minor but his experiance could have been valuable in the event that someone had burns neck injuries or profuse bleeding. A cool and level headed EMT is an asset at any accident scene no matter how minor. JMHO sorry to put anyone out with my worthless opinion once again. I am sorry it all had to happen.

I know when I got rearended back in 99 an off duty EMT saved me from potential neck injuries by instructing me to do things while I was out of sorts and dazed. You never know.
