After visiting the Corvette Museum in Tarpon Springs and then the private collection at the owners home with the BMW Club I would have to say why ask why?
To me if the car is mint, hasn't had the odometer rolled back, etc. and I have money like that guy does (the owner of the Vette museum), and I could keep it in classic condition, I would buy it and garage it because of my own passion for Honda's and the CRX.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
