After a bad spin against Signal's Kazuya Bai, it appeared that Ernie Fixmer would be heading home to Cassidi sooner than expected. With the advantage in Bai's court, the two cars lined up and took off. Then it happened, Kazuya Bai slammed into Fixmer at the first clipping point! The blue 180sx spun violently, sliding until it eventually stopped near the grass. Under D1 rules, Kazuya was disqualified and Fixmer advanced. Luckily, there was no major damage to either car.
