I agree with everyone....the 5 speed is much better that the 6. Plus the 5 speed can withstand a few dumps of the clutch. On the other hand, the 6 speed kills the gears if you do that. But also keep in mind that the evo trany is made for you to slip the clutch, giving you a bad ass 60'. You do not want to dump it like you would in a wrx of sti, it will just bog the car down. The only bad thing about the 5 speed is that the factory clutch is worthless. Some of the last for a while(Mine till 18000 & and about 80 launches), and others for about 500 miles. The clutch is the weekest link in the evo. Once you upgrade it you are good to go.
My car has 28,000 on it in just 15 months of me owning it. It also has over 150 launches at the track. To this day I can no-lift with out getting locked out and no grinding.
