Dumb question...

This transmission in question has a bad 3rd gear. I'm having the transmission guy go through the entire tranny and upgrading/rebuilding/replacing everything that is failure prone. If he is in there replacing shit anyways...could he replace the longer shafter with the correct foxbody input shaft?
