This was posted on another forum were I have it for sale on by a very knowledgeable member and I thought it was valueable info for any potential buyers.
IMO, Seeya's initial price of $3000 is about $1K low. According to the 2008 Collector Car Price Guide, a very good original example of the '84 533i should be valued at ~ $8500. One that needs work which would be classified as fine, but is otherwise servicable should be valued at ~ $4000. Considering the 533i was a very low production E28 compared to the later 535i, they are becoming rare. Extremely well kept examples with relatively low mileage are very rare.
Just my $.02
