Blow-by is caused when compression in the cylinder leaks past the rings. In my case, my rings only leak under boost. Only when I hit boost, because of the rings being tired, it leaks past the rings and pressurizes the crankcase. This causes the oil dipstick to pop out in some cases. I have installed an oil catch can to catch some of the blow-by gases, but the engine does need a rebuild. However, the car drives perfectly fine in and out of boost.
Like I said, this is a great project car, ready for someone to take it to the next step.

check your pcv valve, all engines have some form of blowby right out of the box, thats why you have a pcv.
