Blow-by is caused when compression in the cylinder leaks past the rings. In my case, my rings only leak under boost. Only when I hit boost, because of the rings being tired, it leaks past the rings and pressurizes the crankcase. This causes the oil dipstick to pop out in some cases. I have installed an oil catch can to catch some of the blow-by gases, but the engine does need a rebuild. However, the car drives perfectly fine in and out of boost.
Like I said, this is a great project car, ready for someone to take it to the next step.
Bump.
