ls vtec concerns
ok so i just got my ls vtec built n broken in n now its time to have some fun with it. its a basic set up. usdm type r pistons on some stock ls rods (polished, shot peened, re sized at both ends etc...) n new rod bearings. the head is a bone stock gsr head. has all the bolt ons (i/h/e, skunk 2 intake manifold, bigger t.b., hondata gasket, adj cam gears). one of my concerns is just how far can i let it rev.....also, would i need to upgrade the valve train if i got a pair of type r cams? i dont think ill be taking it much past 8k. i just want some opinions. im lookin for more power, but in a streetable fashion (hence the type r cams). itl b dyno tuned later, but for now ill have it street tuned so i can drive it safely. anyone got some advise on this?? also is anyone sellin some type r cams?? thanks in advance yall!
