So I decide to bring my broken motor out for a couple runs to see how my new clutch will hold up.
After a decent wait, aprx. 25 mins before I could stage up, Im next to a blue 94ish Ranger/S10. We stage. Light turns, boom. I bring it out the hole with the spinning fury of an open diff and 150ft/lbs@3500rpm, nasty. No traction, I try to feather the pedal to no avail, he gains 2 cars on me before I catch, finally. I throw 2nd, boom, traction loss for just a second, hook. pulling... gap now just over a car, third, slight slip, great grip car pulled JUST behind him before we creep past the lights.
Barely lost.
I pull over the side to raise the boost from 6psi to test out a lil' higher. He rides up next to me and asks what I ran. 15.81 I replied. He said he ran a 15.4?(I think) but he had 0 traction, "Can't hook on this track". He told me he ran a 14.6 the night before. I think Im goin to try T&T thursday @9psi.
Really nice guy, later sat. met up with him at the rices out to da chapel.
1320 isn't too bad, cept lack of traction. My next run I was against a monster hatchback he managed a 16 something... I managed another 15.81, this time I didn't have my girl in the car with me, I still had no traction, but down the line in 3rd gear @4krpm my car started bogging. I lowered the fuel down on the SAFC and it hasn't done it anymore... weird non-the-less.
I really feel I lost a full second+ with the traction not being there. Im going to get a set of DR's on the front and see if that helps.
