Funny story along the same lines.

I have a customer, who's kid got a stereo ticket. So this guy (mid 50's) goes and sits in front of Denny's, with talk radio blasting, waiting for some cops. When a couple show up, he says 'can you hear my radio?'. Cop says yes. Then he asks 'are you 25 feet away'. Again, cop says yes. So, he says 'I want a ticket'. Cop gives him one.

So, he goes to court. Thing is,the guy is legally hearing impaired. He argues that he needs it that loud just to hear it. Judge agrees, and asks the cops if they measured the distance, which they did not. Then he asks if they had a DB meter, which they didn't. So, judge says that the current law is vauge and unenforceable, and throws out the ticket. So, the guy tells the judge about his son's ticket, which the judge also throws out.

Not exactly how I'd have done it, but ...
