Default rod

so did the oil sending unit go out?
did the car run out of oil while driving down the road?
did it over heat then lose compression?

does the motor still have compression at all? enough to run?

have you already take off the pan and rod bolts? if so did the bearing wear so thin you need over sided ones to work with the crank shaft, how bad was the crank shaft damaged?
I imagine you have not already looked inside if so you would have had it torn apart and just replaced the rod bearings before putting it back together,

If the car motor is still together how did someone tell you what is wrong with out doing a teardown ?
