Knowing nothing about your engine; not having a pic of that side of your engine,
With some engines you have to pull the crank pulley, remove the plastic
belt cover and undo the bolt that controls the tension and a second bolt that holds the pivot for the tensioner. There is also a spring on some engines, that if removed first, makes the other 2 bolts come out easier.

and can show you what needs to be done.
