At a funeral Drive cops will have to speed to each intersection to stop cross traffic. You can't have the whole police dept at each intersection. There isn't normally enough cops. Just like this past Christmas when we all did a benefit ride here in Hernando County. The Sheriff's Office would fly by us in the very left lanes to stop traffic at each intersection from the Walmart On US19 all the way to the Sheriff's Office. I do agree that this officer on the bike was going way to fast in a two lane road and should have realized that this wasn't a chase this was to protect the public in a funeral. But hey he learned the hard way and I hope that he and the people he hit are ok.
