It's still a V-Dub, does that engine too has a timing belt instead a timing chain as the Golf V GTI? even an 3 cylinder 1 liter Opel Corsa has a timing chain!
sorry but I am "aggrieved" by the german V-Dub community

...and they all are gaylords.
don't want to offend anybody from here.

it was at a show. it was figuring out hot to do the entrance for the unveiling i believe. its still a v-dub yes, but a v-dub that if just stays a concept to say the least, will outrun most supercars around today...the W12 motor is essentially 2 VR6 motors put together. VR in the written out german word stands for 15 degree motor. the vr6 has a piston V angle of 15 degrees. thus allowing the use of one head and all the valvetrain in there. ONLY the 4 cyl motors from VW used belts, and IIRC the mk5 doesnt use a belt (i thought it had a chain now but i dont remember i'll check for sure) so needless, anything bigger than the 4cyl was/is using a chain. whats it matter to you? what do you drive? i love my hondas and will/am planning to go back to one soon, but the VW's opend up my eyes to a WHOLE new level, even tho it can be expensive sometimes, its some good shit...
