A friend of mine passed tech at a drift event with zip-ties holding his battery loosely in place. They're a little bit stricter at auto-x .

In my old car I welded up a new tray and bolt-down setup at 3 am the night before my first event. It had one rather small screw and 7 zip-ties holding it to my crossmember but it looked sturdy enough. The battery couldn't move even when it hadn't been held in place by anything, so adding the appearance of a solid mount was good enough.
