I am a 19 year old college student about to purchase my first car.

I am looking for a new car that is going to be quick, but within the $20,000 price range, and with the ability to be modified in the future with ease. I was looking into the new SRT-4, the 2door 6speed v6 accord, the v6 tiburon, and possibly the WRX (but my friend already has one). I have heard a lot of good things about the SRT-4 in magazines and its performance specs look very impressive (245 ft/lbs of torque, 228 hp to the wheels). However, i tend to hear a lot of shit being talked about it in these forums, albeit mainly from people who own mustangs and camaros and firebirds. I am just curious, are these comments valid? is dodge really that bad? I know it cant beat a z28, but granted, the z28 has almost twice the displacement...anyways, i know it doesnt have LSD (limited slip differential), but my friend told me i wouldnt need it until i made the car more powerful. Is this true? I like the tiburon and the accord, but i am leaning towards and engine with a turbo right out of the box, with the thinking that it will run richer, and i will have less problems modding it out in the future. The WRX is very nice, w/ AWD and LSD and a turbo, but it probably only runs like 170 to the wheels stock, and based on numbers, with equal drivers, an srt-4 would win a 1/4 mile race. (plus my friend already has one). If anyone can help me decide or at the very least give me some suggestions on cars to consider (in my price range) with reasons why, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
