My 2003 Eclipse [4 cyl] has seemed to have a clogged [cat. converter]. As always, it is NOT the rear one, it is the one off the manifold, to which the dealer here in advises that the replacement cost is $764.00, [not including installation]. The (2) local exhaust shops have told me that this FORWARD converter is FACTORY ONLY. HELP>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Is there a replacement front converter out there somewhere that is not cost prohibitive. I am disabled and have only so much money to spend each month. I realize that the EPA rules come into factor here, but there MUST be something I can do to bypass the computer...................
