i dunno about you all but i think ever since the fast and the furious came out people just say they were "in tunnel vision" if they go over 100. i personally think that if your going that fast and all you can see is straight in front of you say good bye to your friends and family in your thoughts because your ass is toast.
ive topped out to 6th gear rev limiter a few times and everytime i was completely aware of all my surroundings. at no point was thier a blurr or anything starting to blend in. i was in control of the situation at all times.
for example. i was coming back from qsl one nite with a few friends across bayside. im cruising at 14 grand in 6th gear, just below redline. had i been a blind fool with tunnel vision i would be dead. all 3 lanes were blocked off in front of me by 2 cars and a cruiser. traveling a good football field a second grabbing a handful of brakes just isnt a great idea. so i explored my options and saw a way through hense living to see another day....must have scared the shit out of them lol, all they saw was a black blurr.
