That being said, I have another customer that is on his 3rd Besco. It is the second alternator in a dual setup, in a Tahoe. Each time, he gets 6-9 months out of it, and then it just dies. Good news is that they keep replacing it. Bad news is that they never seem to give him any root cause. The last one was a 'defective regulator'.

I've also heard of a place called Can-Am motors, somewhere in Tampa, but haven't used them.

Then there is 'ugly big amp alternator' run by Chris 'Audio'...no, I'm not making this up. Not sure how to find him. He used to manage Radio Active, in Tampa many years ago. I ran into him at a show last year. I'm sure that some of the DB oriented shops would know where to find him.

The problem with many 'high output' alternators is that they aren't fully built to handle the output. If the builder doesn't upgrade just about everything...rectifers, cooling fins, brushes, insulation, etc., they just don't last. Buying a real brand, like powermaster, Stinger, or High Output Alternator is usually the best way to go. That is, if you need a bigger alternator, which most people don't.

I'd actually rather see people hang a second one, just for the stereo. Makes lots more sense, in so many ways.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.
