Went to the dyno day at Brotherz Racing. Well ran into my first real setback on this project. Throw the car up on the dyno and it makes 185ish whp at 9 psi. Knew something was wrong so we pulled the plugs and they were showing signs of mild detonation. A/F's were good and ignition timing was conservative. We even had the base timing set to 14 degrees even just to be safe. Funny thing was that at 14 degrees base the distributor was clocked almost all the way in advance. Cam gears are set to zero so that was not the reason. I've seen this before and was prettty sure my ignitor was f'ing up. We re-gap the plugs and take out timing and take another run with the same result. Knew it was time to take the car off the dyno. I ran a compression test afterwards and got 180-185 all the way across which is what I was expecting to see on 8.6-8.9:1 compression. So at least I know the motor was not hurt, motor was also not smoking and pulls good vauum so I feel good about that. I checked cam timing and it was dead on so that was not the problem, cam gears were still at 0,0 so they hadn't slipped either. All components in the dizzy are new with exception of the igniter, coil however is a NAPA piece so I'm not 100% confident on that either. I'm going to try X's distributor when he switches over to the COP setup so hopefully that clears this up.

I'd like to thank Brotherz racing for the dyno time, Alpha for helping me run/tune the car, and John Vega for fixing some problems in my base map before I dyno'd. If the distributor feels like it fixes the problem then back to the dyno I go.
