what cams do you have in the car? stock cams? if so maybe they're the non turbo cams. I am pretty sure the non turbo cams are advanced 5 degrees from the turbo cams ( which = about one tooth)

shouldn't hurt anything. you might want to get a set of cam gears and play with your cam timing a little on the dyno. you can get the fidanza cam gears for like $200 a set now.
