Ok here is the deal. A friend of mine brought her DA to me about a week ago with an interesting problem. Her ex, removed the ABS and converted it to non ABS! Why? We dont know. It has a B18C1 swap.
It took me a while to figure it out, but here goes. As she drives, could be for 1 mile, could be for 10miles. As her car gets hotter her brakes lock up. Which means the fluid is expanding forcing the brake pistons to open. I got advice that it could be the dual proportioning valve or the brake booster adjusting rod needed adjusting. When i looked up on how to do it, there is a special tool from Honda that no-one has and its like $200! So we found this...
PART 7 - Adjusting the Master Cylinder pushrod we did that. The 14mm locknut had "lock-tite" on it and we just about stripped it out. So we removed the Brake booster (after having to takle the huge S2 intake maifold off for clearance) and replaced the locknut. Now that everything has been put back together I have adjusted the pushrod all the way in, and all the way out. the pedal still feels hard and the brakes lock up after a while. I am convinced the the Booster needs to be replaced, some say its the proportioning valve.
What do you think?? Here is a write up on how the booster works, that convinces me that its the problem.
PART 5 - How the Master Cylinder works
If I am way off here, lmk please.
