I don't know anything about this specific incident, but I can tell you that it is not just killing people on bikes that goes un-noticed down here... If you research just about any traffic fatality the person at fault is rarely charged with a serious crime and virtually NEVER does any jail time. In my opinion if you are at fault in an accident with fatalities you should do jail time, period! It doesn't matter if you killed a biker, a pedestrian, another motorist, whatever. It also doesn't matter if you were drunk, eating a bowl of cereal, talking on your cell phone, doing your make-up, changing the radio station, etc. If you kill someone because you were not paying attention while driving, you go to jail. It is the only way people will stop doing everything and anything other than driving while driving.
