Ah, I see. So a trusted SAFE member takes you under his wing and sort of acts as your own private instructor. Cool. I think I'd read that before, but just forgotten.

DJBen, I've seen a Z06 run a 2:20 flat at Sebring, so you're pretty accurate there. My best in my Miata was 2:56 or something like that. I think I tripped a 2:48 in Jeff's Nissan once, but I'm usually right around 2:50.

James, you definitely want good fresh street rubber, but I agree that it's best to wait at least a few events before making the jump to race tires.
