I would have to agree that cylinder does have VTak ...

But one of the most common ways to see if a motor is rod knocking si to unplug the spark plug and if the noise goes away it usually means rod knock ..

On some B18 LS motors they loose the lash adjuster nuts and spit them and sound like rod knock as well though ..
