Hes a frikkin engineer ding dong, he knows what hes talking about, as well as do a few others on here. He gave you the prime example of why racegas will NOT make more power on a car that is tuned for PUMP. if your ignition table is set up for 15 degrees of timing @14psi on pump. then that is NOT enough timing at the same boost level on C16.
C16 burns at a slower rate and reduces detonation, thats is damn job!
its the same as running an NGK#10 in a stock car, it will idle and run like ass because the plug is so cold it doesnt ignite at the proper heat rate to set off a strong combustion......BUT it will at 30psi of boost.

NOW lets address the DSM issue, while looking at the totally badass palm logger software most DSMs runs such as DSMlink, you tune for counts of knock, if you guys dont see knock, you turn up the boost. if you see knock you add racegas and turn the boost up some more. its the age old answer to lack of power in a DSM.....turning that knob to the right on the boost controler

nevermind tuning the thing or spending some money on something that can be tuned. but we honda guys dont tune for knock as our knock sensors will alert us 3 days after our motor have blown up

you are correct, ecus do SENSE timing but they will not add, they will reduce. a DSM does not have Ivtec.
and if youre wondering what i do, i tune cars as well. i have the only AWD dyno for 500 miles so yeah i do ALL the DSMs around here, everything from a 531 AWHP eclipse(on an FP-RED, which is one of the highest) down to a 275 16g powered FWD, I do 4g63 starion conversions as well as 4g63 miarge/cyborg swaps
