To tell you the truth I always wondered if the bellhousings match up.The vovlo n/a to turbo piston swap is alot easier, both are 96mm by 80mm.The first thing you see is a volvo head any ways. The only thing I could remember on the vovlo 16v head as a problem area was the width with mani.Im not positive if it clears the brakes.
The only reason I say vovlo block is becuase I had a look of both headgaskets and the oil/water passages awhile ago and they didnt totaly line up.So some work on the passeges is in order.I know the oil feeds are on different sides and you needs to run an external line.
If you plan on running a turbo(i hope so) then the stock turbo mani wont work. The stock 16v cams grinds are ok,but performance ford 2.3 grinds are more common.
What im getting at is that a ford 2.3 head/intake port and polish makes more sense. They sell different cams and the stock heads have alot of room for improvement.
