Default day of fun, found a quality mechanic

so i just got back from getting a custom exhaust fabbed up and then had to go find someone to install my crank pulley.

let me just say that i was getting tired of my car sounding like a motorcycle at idle, too bumpy, sounded like i had some serious cams in there or something, but it was fun when WOT

so i went to Rainbow Mufflers and talked to the guys there and after looking at the options they set to work on getting a 2.25 inch catback exhaust on to my car.

It took no more than 45 minutes for them to remove my old exhaust, bend piping, weld on a muffler and get it all sealed and ready to drive. dude even threw in a free exhaust tip for me, I'll take pics in a minute.

I took a movie of the exhaust with no muffler and then another one with the muffler, but my cam sucks and the audio is blown. however you can still see the difference on the speedometer

i drove the car from Rainbow Mufflers, on belcher and east Bay, to Joe Knows Auto's, next to Cottman transmission on belcher between bay and ulmerton.

all i can say is, its nice to run into mechanics that take pride in their work.
i show up and not a single person is in the front office, the boss, Joe, had run to the bank, and all the employees were working on customers cars, so walk out to the garage and ask for some help, asking it they could replace my crank pulley

great guys there, the younger guy that worked on my car drove a 96 sti and boasted that it had 500+hp, so i felt my car was in good hands. worst case scenario is that he just really wished he owned a subaru. THEN i come to find out that the guy who owns the place used to work at a subaru dealership and was a subaru certified mechanic. this made me feel a little bit better still.

they had my crank pulley swapped out within an hour and only charged me 70 bucks. without asking they also checked and topped off all of my fluids. that last bit is what made me decide that this place was worth coming back to. I was very, very satisfied with how the pulley works, nice quicker revvs.

anybody know of a stock wrx that wants to go for a run? i need to know where i stand, butt-dyno is prejudice
