mil code 71 after ka swap
So I bought a zenki with rod knock and swapped in a junkyard engine over the weekend.
It runs pretty rough, bounces all about and when I checked codes get a 71 (general misfire).
I have looked over all the harness plugs and they all appear to be attached.
The newer engine didn't have a dizzy on it, so I just set it to tdc and lined it up to have the #1 plug wire pointed at by the dizzy. The fact that it started, means it must in the neighborhood. I threw a timing light on it and moved it about on the timing marks, till it got as smooth as it gets.
Put new plugs in it(the old ones looked fine).
I also kept the old throttle body as it has one more plug on it than the newer one( mine is auto the other was manual).
I was hoping the diagnostic lights would tell me something a bit less vgue than this.
Any suggestions?
