^^^true. carbon fiber is beautiful when its done with taste though, and working with it builds that love even more. carbon fiber can be a lot easier to repair than any aluminum. for instance, if you had a carbon lip, you can clean up rock chips with a little resin. or you can fill spots with chopped fiber. surfers have been doing this for years to combat dings in their boards.

however, if you had an aluminum front lip (nascar for example) and dent it or get a small gash, its difficult to either hammer out, splice in new metal, or what have you. you cant really splice a new piece in because that would add weight (if thats a important factor in your race car) and hammering out dents leaves some aerodynamic perfection to be desired. you cant get it perfect. its also not cost effective to replace metal parts all the time. however, you can teach any monkey to apply resin and sand.
