What do you prefer?
Of course people buy bikes for different reasons, what's yours?
For me, i ORIGINALLY bought my bike not knowing much about motorcycles, and practically never riding before. I thought the bike sounded cool, looked great and would be a cool thing to cruise around town on while at the same time pulling some hoes.
After having my bike for a few months i was introduced to riding corners and such, which is really what my bike is made to do (Honda RC51). Since then, cruising around town, riding at night, going to meets and stunt shows don't really appeal to me as much anymore, mainly because i enjoy cornering so much. I think it's a really cool feeling to know that you're just inches off the ground at a pretty high rate of speed and in control. I, personally, think how well you can corner on a sport bike tells a lot about your own personal riding skill (mainly because there is a lot more skill and such involved in riding twisties than going down the highway at 180.. and im not saying it's wrong to like that, it's just not my style and everybody is different). I'm not trying to say that i'm the man at it either, because i know i have A LOT to learn. Furthermore, since then, i've met an awesome group of people that i've become really close with as well (i think that comes with anything you do with motorcycles because it seems like it's almost a family) Anyway.. Basically, I'd much rather go out and have fun than have my bike be a status symbol that i just ride to a spot and be seen.
I guess it just really comes down to what you enjoy, i know corners arent everybody's thing, and that's cool. Adrenaline junkies wanting crazy speed for not much money usually turn towards sport bikes, guys who wanna go out and cruise usually turn towards something a bit more comfortable like harleys or cruisers.. and that's all cool.
Basically, just to reiterate my point, have you changed your outlook on riding since you first started riding or bought your bike? What do you enjoy the most and why?
