Thanks man, it's been a while. The car will remain basically how it is except for the stuff I listed above, which I may need some input on. I think this car is the same color as your hatch--medium cabernet red? Anyway, you'll see me around on the forums. Do you guys still meet up at Hooters in Brandon from time to time?

What's up Bryan, long time no see. Unfortunately the paint on the car is pretty well shot (you can see the clear coat peeling on the roof, and the hood is just a faded basecoat), so it's time for a <$1k base/clear paint job.

Hell yeah man! I saw your '84 SSP Coupe.. that thing is sweet for what you paid for it! I think you should paint it black/tan and put a light rack back on it..

Anyway, thanks for all the kind words fellas. Wouldn't you know it, right after I made my original post about the car, I drove it to the tag office to transfer the title into my name, etc. I downshifted to 2nd as I was turning into the place and it just stalled on me. Turned over fine, but no spark. So I pushed it into a parking space and checked the basics. Ended up replacing the TFI module (props to Joe for helping me out with parts/labor, really appreciate it man!), ECU and the coil. No dice. Finally went back yesterday morning, prepared to tow the thing, and tried a complete distributor out of a known running engine and she fired right up. Gotta love those 20 year old Ford electronics. The rebuilt T-5 was also having a weird problem where it wouldn't stay in reverse, kept jumping out of gear unless I held the shifter in place, but the seller is taking care of that for me this weekend.

And so it begins!!
