lol I painted my 1995 Mustang, it's not an easy thing, first off you need to sand all the old paint off, you have to be careful not to oversand etc... you mainly just want to ruff it up, after so I normaly just clean it off with paint thinner to get all the dusk off etc... and ready for paint. after that I normal check all the trim etc... and if a touch up is needed I do that first, I then tape up all the lights, windows, mirrors, door handles bascly everything you don't want paint on, they make a tape called masking tape it will stick and wont peel paint off your car. Of course if you had dents know would be a good time to repair them but since you don't we skip that, anyways you need to make sure the car is in a closed off area were dust or dirt wont blow on it etc... then to do a good job you need a pro paint gun, nothing cheap or it will spit all over the place and a high PSI air compressor. then you simply paint the car... if your not good at painting with a air gun now I wouldn't even try it on the car, you need to be a good 2 feet or so away from the car so not make spills etc... spray on car light the first time, let dry then buff it and clean then respary you keep doing this a good 3-5 times for a good paint job that will last, remember to spary on lightly, after this you need to let the car dry again then you buff again then you do a clear coat that is kinda like a clear paint that protects your paint, you spray that on the same way as the paint etc.. about 3 times etc... then you need to let your car sit about 1-2 weeks.

Anyways the brake down is that it's a long thing and take time and money, you might save about 500$ but if you don't already have the compressor or air gun or paint etc... you really don't end up saving money the first time you paint your car... I already had the stuff needed at the time and was the only reason why I did it on my own, I'd suggest letting a pro do your car!
