B16a studs work fine. Stay away from the bolts although they will work also in a pinch. If you did get the b16a studs and you want to raise them up a bit drop a ball bearing into the hole that is bout the diameter of about half of the stud width. This will do two things: One it will raise the stud, more importantly it will keep the stud from bottoming out and preloading the threads. With the ball bearing in there you can torque the stud in place with 5 to 10 ft/lbs.

Take a look at the AEBS or I think the Golden Eagle studs, they come tapered at the bottom and achieve the same thing as dropping a ball bearing in the hole.
