The best form of enforcing a law is a visible police officer in a visible police car. People don't break any kind of law in front of the cops. When the cops dress in costumes like in Pinellas County, and drive vehicles not recognizeable as police cars, it is revenue raising, and not enforcing the law.

If anyone was serious about enforcing speed limits, they would be there
24 hours per day, instead of cops being there for a few days, and then gone for 9 months.

If anyone was serious about reducing traffic deaths, the cops would be mostly present at the hours that most people die on the roads, and not the hours, that most tickets are written.

In Florida they write 1/3 million speeding tickets each year.
No other category is even close!
In FL speeding is only number 4 as far as traffic crashes and death.
In FL drunk drivink is only number 6 for traffic crashes and death.

Speeding *IS* number one as a fund raiser, and is easy to detect. They make devices to detect speeders, but make no devices to detect careless driving, the number one cause of crashes and death.

Nation wide, with 150,000,000 licensed drivers and 50,000 highway deaths, we need THIRTY TIMES MORE DEATHS to reach even 1% of the licensed drivers.
If we have 1/30th of 1% licensed drivers dieing, this is not a significant number!
