1g MAF Problem?
Well I think I've narrowed down the problem I'm having but to assure I'm right I would like to hear some input.
I've replaced the spark plugs ( NGK gapped at .028 ), brand new spark plug wires, changed the coil pack, power transistor, alternator and a few misc other things. I've just been on a roll replacing parts trying to find the source of my problem. This is what occurs...
I start up the car (cold start)... its idles high then drops (normal). While its running (just still...idling) it drops lower idle then jumps and idles high, its keeps doing this and then occasionally almost stalling out/shutting off. If I were to get in the car and try to back up... giving it gas no problem... as soon as I let off it does the same thing I mentioned above. While driving (foot on the gas pedal) there's no problem. I let off and really no problems. I sit at the light... its idling high then it drops and begins to do the samething I mentioned.
Before anyone says its the ISC or TPS... both were checked and both are within limits.
Now to the reason I think I narrowed it down to the MAF. I started the car up today... it was doing what I mentioned above. While talking to my soon-to-be father in law I said to him... maybe its the 02 sensor if not the MAF. A few people told me it may be the MAF. So while the car is running I unplugged it and the idle stayed constent, no dropping then going high. I plugged it back in and it began doing the samething. Now would that be a sign of the MAF going bad or me doing that didn't really point to it being the MAF?
