How To Measure Piston Ring Gap
1. Spray WD40 on the cylinders
2. Fit the piston ring into the cylinder
3. Push it down about 2 inches using an upside down piston
4. Use feeler gauges to measure the gap between the piston ring
5. Push the piston rings down about 5 inches and measure again
6. Repeat for all piston rings and cylinders
Clearances
Top ring - .20mm - .35mm (.008" - .014")
2nd ring - .40mm - .55mm (.016" - .022")
Oil ring - .20mm - .50mm (.008" - .020")
First I took the piston rings off an LS piston I had laying around I didn't use the P30's because the dome on them kept pushing the rings lop sidded
