If you shoot in Hi-res, you can always downgrade it for webviewing. I think they are attempting to shoot in HD, so that if they are picked up by a Major player (G4 or Speed, etc) that they will have production ready shows ready to air.

Sounds smart to me...and I'm sure Kyle has put alot of thought into this.
