Need HELP...
I know when you do the LS swap in a 1990 civic hatch that you have to cut and weld the old integra shift linkage (cheap method) to be able to shift. Well I ordered in a short shifter and now once it is install gears 3,4,5,R are all nice and tight but gears 1,2 are a pain in the ass to get into and it feels like my shifter is leaning more toward the passenger side than center. Now the thing is...how crucial of a part is the other linkage that holds the shifter up? In other words could you not use that linkage and just bolt the shifter up by making a bracket for it or....can you modify that linkage to not come in contact with the shift linkage without sacrificing the way your car shifts?
