While not in car sales. I am a mortgage broker, very similar in the effect that it is commision only. Before i worked an hourly paid job at a credit union. I hated it. It was boring, and every day was pretty much the same as the last. With this job your always moving and everythings always changing. This makes the job stressful but very exciting as well. So it has it's good and bad points just like any other job. I would say this is a very bad career to be in if you don't know how to manage your money. December i only made like 1k, this month about 4500, next month it should be about 6-7k take home. I'm only 22 so IMO this is pretty good money. I would warn anyone wanting to get into a commision only job...have about six months worth of savings just incase you don't start out too strong. I'm starting in this career young which is probably better since i don't have a family or wife to worry about. Plus this is about the worst time to be getting into any sales proffesion with rates being high and sales being slow. So if i'm happy with my paychecks now it can only get better. Just my .02
