I am going to go against the grain here. First a little background. I'm 18 and sell new and used cars at a new car dealership. I'm going to school in August and till then am working, making money and having fun. I think selling cars is a great idea. Really, what you need is people skills more then car knowledge. It definitely is a plus being a car guy but definitely not the most important. I say go for it man. I work 5 days a week(sunday and one day a week off) and yes the hours are more then a usual job but where I work the latest I get off is 7 and this leaves plenty of time for a social life, and me and the guys from work often go out after work, and I have no problem meeting people. Not only will it help make you money, but also improve your people skills, allowing you to converse with many different personality types and demographics of people but also to help you mature. You can make good money doing this and while it is on commission it is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, sometimes your checks are bigger, sometime smaller but it all balances out, you just need to be fiscally responsible. Well that's my opinion. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.
