I would agree with that but not until our education system starts putting some effort into driver's education instead of tolerance classes and grief counselors.
It always perplexed me that while leading cause of death amongst teens was traffic fatalities the extent of driver's education is a semester in a classroom with a couple minutes seat time driving around a parking lot. Where is the, "the children they are our future" mantra when it comes to driver's education?
There should be four years of driver's education starting at the freshman level. Of course we will have to cut the "Johnny's Two Mommies" classes to pay for it, but I'm willing because better drivers are more important to me than whatever else they are indoctrinating the children for.
well...4 years seems somewhat excessive, 1-2 would be more feasible IMO because that's around the time after I received my license that I began to feel confident in my abilities as a driver.
the whole waiting 6-12 months after you get your permit to get a license is a joke, it's simply a waiting period not a learning experience.
