If that remote is ANYTHING like the one for my dash monitor its HORRIBLE, you cant even get a good signal from like 3 inches away from it, at that point just hit the buttons.

I dont know if you'd want to get bottom of the barrel, you'll always kick yourself later.... i know i do.
