I would jack up the car, pull the oil pan, clean it inside, replace with a
new oil pan gasket, and add clean oil and a filter before I would put
kerosene through the oil passages and bearings.
I also put computer magnets on the side of my oil filters
to pull any fine, fine, steel particles out of oil as it
filters...................and I replace filters 1/2 way between
oil changes.

I have cut filters apart to see how well they are working,
and to see how they are made. In the discussion between
Fram and Purolator, Purolator is definitely built better.
If you want to donate a filter for research purposes, next time
you change one, we can take it apart and look at it.-Bob
