i see it this way, superchargers give you power on demand, which is great from a roll, or even off the line if you have adequate traction...but alot of people cant launch a fwd and not lose traction...and thats naturally aspirated, imagine having a lot more torque to deal with off the line with the supercharger...now over to turbo, your going to get lag NO MATTER WHAT, but it isnt the worst thing in the world, you should see full boost at 4k at the latest, depeneding on your turbo setup, now when you launch, your going to be launching from like 3000rpm or around that, so within maybe 2 or 3 tenths of a second you will be in boost and on your merry way.
also a turbo can give you continuous pull through the rpm band and very well top end, i dont know how well a supercharger does on top end so i cant compare them on the top end.
well you sound intelligent untill the lag part... i could have launch my hatch at 1k and still spun within a tenth of a second... yeah it was that fast spooling up... trust me lag was not a problem AT ALL!!! people talk about turbo lag like the car doesnt move... you would have to have a huge turbo on a tiny motor to notice it as much as these people speak of it... i say turbo is the way to go...
