Default **Perrin Brake Bracket**

I finally got around to ordering one these for my car so i thought it would be a great piece for a how to. Plus i love to do upgrades to make a good all around car. Fedex dropped it off today so i went ahead and put it in. It was also no surprise that Perrin's instructions weren't that bad but i like to see pictures. But this is an easy easy install.

Whats it do:
It keeps the brake master cylinder from flexing under hard braking. This keeps the pedal from feeling all mushy. You might even have a firmer pedal under normal braking.

Whats it cost:
The bracket cost $74. some places charge shipping but you can easily find it without shipping.

Whats needed:
well first you need to have the bracket
ratchet
10mm socket
extension
flat head screwdriver
4mm allen wrench
6mm allen wrench
jack (this may be needed depending on your suspension)

This is what the piece should look like when you get it.

This is the victim. take the brace and all your tools and head out to your car and pop the hood. (mines a little dirty, i didn't feel like cleaning it)

This is the main area you'll be working in. take the 10mm socket and ratchet and remove the 2 bolts holding the washer fluid tank in. then move it off to the side to give yourself some room to work.

With the tank out of the way you should easily see these 2 10mm bolts. take them out along with the 2 brackets they're holding in.

Here are the 2 brackets taken out. You won't need these anymore.

Next you'll take the flathead screwdriver and pop this gray clip holding the washer fluid line out.

Thats it for taking things out. Now it's time to put the brace in.

Put the brace in and thread all 3 screws. For the 2 you see here you won't need the nuts or 2 of the washers. The holes are already threaded.

This is where i needed to jack up my car a little to get my arm in to tighten the back bolt. Depending on your suspension you might not have to do this.

This is where you want to put the nut and washer for the back bolt. Tighten it down with the 10mm.

Take the 4mm allen wrench and tighten down the 2 bolts here. After the base is tightened down, take your 6mm allen wrench and tighten the main bolt into the master cylinder. You don't need to overdue it, just snug it up. Put your washer tank back in and you're done.

Stand back and enjoy your handy work

Hows it feel:
All i can say is WOW! This piece made quite a difference. the pedal is a lot firmer and definately makes stopping quickly more confident. For the money spent i don't regret it one bit.
