Do they ever race more than one car at a time or is it all based on lap times?
Cool video...also, what size motors do they use?
Yea that was only qualifying, normaly in during a race they can knock up to 8 seconds off that time.
During a race there are about 27 cars full out depending on if all start.
Motors used to be v12's then they cut them down to v10's and now they are 2.8 liter v8's with a 18,000 redline. (honda v10's used to spin all the way to 21,000 rpms!

) they put down about 700hp, and i think they have 7 forward gears. i heard somewhere that the motor only runs with 1 quart of oil in it and has an external drysump oil system that holds the rest.
Recent restrictions have limited power output.
cool little fact about F1 cars is that the aero design of the car creats 4500+ lbs of down force above a certin mph (i fotgot how high i think about over 130) and the car only weighs 1300 give or take a few. So technicaly they can drive inverted and they would stick to the ceiling of a tunnel if they had a ramp designed to let them do so.
your right about being a very techincal type of racing. every aspect of the car is moniterd and they can make most of the adjustments on the cars just using a computer.
Its an awesome thing to watch, i didnt watch all the video i posted but on some camera angles they go so fast around a turn that it almost looks unreal, as if it were actuly stuck on railings.
